One of my favorite bows to shoot is my 1962 Grizzly.  I love it.  I just couldn't bring myself to hunt with it outside of on the ground during snow.  The bright cream limbs just were too much for me...

So, I asked 4runr to deface my 1962 Grizzly.  Here is the result.  I don't think I have a finer bow...this fabulous shooter has now also gained the title of hunting machine.

These pictures do not do the bow or Kenny's work justice.  He was able to get a uniform cream line on either side of the skin just framing it in ever so lighty.

Look how he transitioned the black bars on the skin in to the tip!!

THANK YOU KENNY!

Before anyone gets too upset with us the bow wasn't original when I bought it.  The back of the limbs had been lightly sanded and a black (original was brown) Bear Grizzly decal was placed on it.

Yeah that is great looking!! The original limbs were never 'right' in the woods.

That's very nice looking. I keep my eyes on the search mode for older bows with cracked or unsightly limbs just for that purpose. With the vintage look and snake skin backing it makes a sharp looking bow.

Kenny does excellent work.

Congrats on a great looking bow.  I love the old Bear bows and in my view, you did nothing but give that old Griz some new life, as well as making it look pretty nice.

I don't think I would call that "defacing a classic"...maybe "enhancing a classic."

After shooting my first '62 Griz a few years ago, I practically  :knothead:  the owner and opened my wallet to make it mine.  I still have it and love it.

Thanks for all the comments guys. It is a pleasure to work on these old beautys. A little nerve wracking at times to make sure I don't mess up on one as nice as this one was to start with. The hardest part was trying to make the limb with the new decal blend with the finish on the other limb.
Also the leather grip was in excellent original condition and I wanted it to look as original with the snake slithering out of the grip.

The best part was getting to shoot it some while it was here. Maybe that's why it took so long.
