Some old arrows.HELP!
« on: August 23, 2011, 12:44:00 AM »
Picked up some old arrows recently and not sure of the broadheads as far as manufacturer.A friend suggested that the two barbed heads could possibly be Craig Clark heads and they do look similar to his heads shown in Wade's broadhead book but not exactly like them. The other head I'm not sure of.Any ideas. The first pic shows the two barbed heads along with two arrows with just the "ferrule":

 Same arrows,other side:

This is the head I'm not sure of.I don't have a grain scale handy, but the arrow is rather heavy, has a transluscent mid style nock with a raised cock feather indicator:

 Here's the other side:

I couldn't help but take a closer look at the two barbed heads,so out to the garage I went, found me some scotch-brite pads and decided to clean some of the rust off the heads.I didn't go crazy on them but they were hard to see with the grunge on them. They cleaned up nicely and after comparing them again to the Craig Clark heads in Wade's book,I do believe they were made by him.The ferrules are very similar as well as the blade designs, especially the one with the back of the barbs cut off. They are not exactly like any of the Craig Clark heads shown in the book and may be two new variations.
Oh no,this broadhead stuff is starting to get interesting.I need an intervention!

 Cleaned up a bit:

With the page from "The book":

Still up and trying to find out what this other head might be.Got to the "B" section of the book and found this head.I may be wishful thinking and being it's so late I can't see straight, but this head is very, very similar to the Blodgett Becker head shown on page B-43.Underneath the paint using a magnifying glass it does appear to have a brass ferrule as described in the book.I will continue browsing through the pages tomorrow after getting some sleep. What do you think? Is it a Blodgett Becker?

NICE HEADS JOHN. SURE LOOKS LIKE A BLODGETT TO ME. I CAN HELP WITH THAT INTERVENTION [AS I'M SURE MANY OTHERS CAN] JUST SEND THOSE HEADS TO PA.

Thanks Chuck-I knew I could count on my fellow tradgangers for some help.
