Draw length question for you Bear guru's!

I am going to begin an search for a older LH 40#-45# one piece Bear. Is there any model that will accomodate a 29 1/2" draw? I shoot 3 under if that would figure into the equation. If not then I guess there will be no need to search! LOL! Thanks in advance fellas!!

You are going to pickup 6+ pounds with the 29.5" draw.

I've had lots of 60" Kodiaks that shoot great at my 27-1/2" draw.  My own experience is that anything less than 60" is not as consistent for me.  Obviously, I don't get equivalent performance from most 64 inchers.  But, with a 29+" draw, I'd not go shorter than 64"!

So we are looking at a 64"er at about 35-38# @ 28 to hit on the low 40#s at my draw?

Your gain in weight may only be about 4 pounds so 38# would be about 42# at 29.5". 62" TIGERCAT would work real well, late to mid 60's.  The kodiaks tend to cost more, I have a 30" draw and can shoot the 60" or 64" Kodiak models with the 64"Kodiak fitting my draw a little bit better.

Many years ago, I had a 70# Tigercat that was a Smoker!!  Pretty good looking too.  A 62" grizzly is always an option.  I particularly liked the '61 and '62 Grizzlies. I'm partial to the earlier Bears, so I'd choose one of those over a Tigercat.

450 marlin's could be just what your looking for but if you want something a bit more forgiving on the longer draw Bear also made 66" Polar's and Bearcats which can be found in the lower #'s and at good prices.

I've got a 30+" draw and have shot all of the 60" Bear models with the exception of the 1961.  While I no longer shoot my 60" Bear classics because I don't want to risk them I can't imagine that any of the 60" Bears wouldn't work for you and your 29-1/2" draw.  The string angle may mean your release form will be a little more critical than it would be if you were shooting a longer bow, but I can't see why that would keep you from a certain model year.  Shoot what you like.
