Bear Static Tip KodiaK Recurve Blonde glass
« on: January 14, 2012, 10:42:00 AM »
I am looking to identify the year this recurve was made the serial number is K4-10463-B 64" and features blonde glass, maple core, with all the decals on it. It is in good shape missing the top marcotta overlay on the upper limb. This bow is 60#s. Any one who can tell me what year? Thanks for any information you can offer. Jacques A. Bonin

Thanks for responding. I will try to post pictures after the lim tip repair. I intend on using this bow on a special "FRED BEAR"Tribute Hunt next october in N.Y. on the 25th anniversary of "FRED'S" passing. Thanks again,Jacques

I bought a '52 from a local gentleman that had bought it new while he was still in High School. He told me he hunted three seasons with it back when he first got it and took two deer. Quite a feat back in those days.

Jack do you still have the bow and what weight is it. I just placed a piece of leather over the string grove and used electricians tape to secure it in place temporarily also to cover any sharp areas that would cut the string. Wow is all I have to say! I usually shoot 65#s at my draw,I think this bow 60#s at 28" would pull 52-53#s at 25.5" I couldn't believe how well it shot wood ,aluminum arrows,2016's with 175 grain heads and the 60# wood with 145 grains, both sets of arrows weigh in at 515-520 grains overall.20-25yards shooting tight groups, no noise just sweet shooting. Never shot an old Bear this style before and couldn't be more surprized at the performance! A static tip recurve, and everyone was telling me to be prepared for a lot of handshock!Non-present, fantastic bow! If you have one in 60#s or higher I would be interested. Thanks, jacques Bonin
