Herters recurve
« on: February 08, 2012, 11:08:00 AM »
I got this bow at a flea market years ago and kinda forgot about it. Anyway it seems in great condition, doesn't look like it was shot much at all. It's 68" and 62# @ 28". It looks like birdseye maple riser. Does anyone have an idea of when it was made?

Thanks, Wow older than I thought. Did Herters make bows or have another company make them and then put their name on em? I know I used to have some reloading equipment from them.
 Thanks again

Now, here's the question...is that built as a shelf or elevated rest?   :biglaugh:

Another company made bows for Herters in the 60s....I don't know about earlier.    Somewhere, deep in the recesses of my alleged mind, the name of that company or bowyer exists....hopefully, it is also in my files and I'll find it someday! It was a MN bowyer I think, but not a name I knew from any other association.

Yep, july 7th, 1959. I believe that it's one of Bob Barries. I have a '61 just like it.
