Kodiak Magnum year of manufacture
« on: February 08, 2012, 01:20:00 PM »
Is there a definitive way to tell between KMags made in 1970, 1971 and 1972?  Is the accent stripe the same in 70 and 71 (a dark wood) and the stipe in 1972 a more reddish colored wood.  I have a bow that I believe is made in 1970.  It has a dark wood accent stripe and no bushing for a stabilizer in the front of the grip.  Did 1971 and 1972 bow have the bushing?  Can't tell from the DVD Bear Catalog.  Thanks for your help.  Dave

In 1971 the stabilizer bushing was standard but could be special ordered prior to that. The 71 silkscreen will be on the back and the 72 on the belly. Sounds like yours is a 1970.
