'59 Kodiak question

Anyone have any ideas on limb replacement?  Have a 50# lefty that cracked through and through on the upper limb.  Would like to make every effort to save it. Thanks, Frank.

I had a 1961 Kodiak Special re-limbed by Mike @ Maddog Archery. Here is a link to the topic:

I am VERY happy with the result; the bow looks and shoots GREAT!

However, unfortunately, when I checked with Mike about a year ago, he told me that he was no longer doing re-limbing jobs. Alas. So, this is not as helpful for you as it might have been.

Thanks for the feedback.  Pack animal: Initially, the upper limb had several longitudinal cracks near the limb tip.  When the bow was being strung it was noticed that it began to twist.  At that point it appeared that the core wood was affected too.  We attempted a repair by injecting the several cracks and allowed them to cure under pressure.  A subsequent stringing of the bow did not initially show twisting but he moment a draw was attempted the limb immediately failed and the cracks went all the way through!  Sort of splintered apart.  I think at this point a re-limb project is in order.  NumPls (Ray): thanks for the tip on Mike @ Maddog Archery maybe worth a phone call in the near future.
