That sure would make an interesting mount!  Yeah its a shame nature got them before a hunter did.

Just goes to show you that what I was taught as a child is right.  Mother Nature is more cruel than man.  Cool pic and a real shame to see them go like that.

wierd. The side sticking out of the water in that one pic doesn't even look like they are touching, let alone locked.

I wonder how many deer die like that every year?  There antlers have got to be just the right size and get twisted just right way so they lock. Its a shame they don't look that skinny so I dont think they starved to death bloating might be a factor there but I wonder if they drowned each other in the river?

They drowned. Those pictures are actually from a couple of years ago. Two pretty nice bucks that fought it out until the end.

Isn't this an intersting metaphor. Aren't we all dying. Should the finger be pointed.  These two lives, do they mean much more than what you are reading.  Life is a gift.  Many of us are as locked up as these two guys.  And if we aren't than many of us sure feel that way.  This photo struck me as hard as the next B&C.  Live it up boys, ( I say more to myself) Your next "fling" could be your last.

Saw the same thing in 1970-71 here in Georgia. One was classic rounded rack with long tines curving inward - scored 155. The other was classic wide open rack heavy beams with straight tines - scored 170ish as I recall.

The same thing happened to a couple of moose in NH or ME. They are mounted and I think its called forever locked or something like that.-Scott

Mike;
I used to hunt just South of Terre Haute along Honey Creek and was trailing a couple like that, and one real monster.  Never got close enough, but they were fun to look at. :]
