today i looked at a set of bl signature limbs i had strung and realized that there is a vertical crack in the glass right above the beefed up section for bolting. it was there before but it seems to have grown. i also realized that a one third section of the bolt on area was cracked and was actualy separated from the rest of the limb a very little. this scares me because i cant see the second one untill the limbs are strung. input please. it would be a easy fix for some one who knows what they are doing.

I had a set of Lee limbs do that also same place but just the limb cracked about 3/8" not the cap. They were almost new sent them back and Ron replaced them.It was my second bow from him and I know I didn't over tighten them but it worried me.I do not think you can fix them.Kip

Call Rob Lee and speak with him. You might send them to the factory and let them address the problem. Worst case, you have to buy a new set of limbs. JMHO

For tiny cracks, I've had several bowyers just tell me to use super glue, have someone let it run in when the crack is opened the most at draw... let it dry. Done.
But sounds like yours is more severe...

there is a peice of paper slid under one side and the crack runs down the grain to the top of the bolt hole. the other side is the same exept the crack runs into the glass instead of the bolt hole

AKDan it is a Bob Lee not Widow buddy. How old are the limbs? I would call Rob and see what he suggests before ya do the super glue fix. It works but Rob may suggest something else. Shawn

Looks like they were over tightened. A few other bowyers' limbs tend to do that if overtightened.

oh i know they were overtightened, i have no idea how old they are, probably not very, they are in great shape other than that, wich means nothing. i did call rob and he said that i should send them in but there is nothing he could do anyway. i think ill give the glue a shot see what happenes when strung then drawn. if it doesnt separate ill try and shoot some really heavy arows, cross my fingers and wear a hard hat and some goggles.
