BEAR SUPER GRIZZLY
« on: September 03, 2012, 11:34:00 PM »
I have a vintage Super Grizzly and it has the canadian patent date along with the US dates and numbers. All other Super Grizzlies I have seen have just the US numbers. My question is could this be one of the first Super Grizzly bows? Bow is black with red stripe serial # KD1997 50@28 AMO 58"

Good question. The patent silkscreen changed sometime during the 1972 model year before I'm told the Super Grizzly was introduced. What color is the limb glass?

The only black glass I've seen on the Grizzlies were the 71 and 72 models.

Hello Jack R. & Jack S.
I took a look at the Bear catalogs.  1973 thru 1975 listed the Super Grizzly as available with White Green or Black glass. The Riser also is listed as available in three colors of futurewood; Big Sky Blue, Forest Green and Midnight Black.  Hope this helps some.
