« on: October 04, 2012, 08:04:00 PM »
Can anyone tell me the age of my bow or maybe close to it ? 45# at 28" AMO 62" Damon Howatt Hunter. All written in cursive.  Serial number  HH 8385 . Thin reddish accent line thru riser of two other woods . One a darker brown . One a lighter wood . Thank you.  Mike

Howatt used the first digit of the serial number as the year of manufacture. I would guess 1968 or 78. I'm not certain on the time frame for the different woods they used in the risers or other indicators. One of the Howatt experts will probably come along, ask for a picture and tell you the exact year.

Does it look like this one? If so, It's probably a 1988, I'd guess. Perhaps others can confirm or give a better guess. If you could post photos, it would help.

Doesn't look like your pic Mike ,except shape of riser. Has 4 distinct seperations of wood. Have to learn how to put pics on and then try this again . Thank you though. MIke D.

Many people have a hard time figuring out how to upload photos of their bows. Having a Photobucket account is good but it's not the only way.

If you have the photo on your hard drive, it's easy to upload it directly to your post(s) on TradGang. Just use the handy utility program described in the TradGang and Computers section. The specific thread you want is called "Posting Photos - A Simple Alternative". In that same thread, you can practice using the image link utility BEFORE you attempt to upload photos into an active thread on this site.

PLEASE BE SURE your photos have a maximum dimension of 640 pixels, or less.   :readit:   Be especially vigilant if you're using images from a phone ... those things are sometimes HUGE and need to be resized before you post.

Here is a direct link to the practice thread:

 http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=129;t=000004

Try it a couple of times. You'll be surprised how easy it is.   :D

We're looking forward to seeing your bow photo(s) posted here. It is the best way for the other members to help answer your questions about your bow.

Good Luck!
