Messed up Big Time!

I was sanding my longbow limbs down tonight and cutting in my string groves. I got things pretty well in tiller and cut my self at the wrong line. I cut it at little higher then the center of the bow. After I figure out that I messed up I took some smooth-on and mixed a little up and put it in the saw cut. What do you guys think, can it be saved or is it fire wood. I layed out my handle and the cut it self would be a 1/4 inch into my handle. Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks Don

Finish the bow out.You may have to adjust the length by shortening the bow and retillering. The cut is not repairable and will always be a weak spot. You can still save the bow. If it is too short for you ,then make it a Christmas gift for somebody. Overcoming mistakes is part of the bow building challenge.-Dave
