Help me complete my 50 year bow !!

So I bought a beauty of a '63 Kodiak (courtesy of 'snufer' )... found some old stock bear arrows, and now just need a quiver.

I love the leathertops, but since the '63 if not tapped for a screw in, It seems I am left with the option on a tape on. (I dont like the spring arm models)


Can anyone post a picture of explain how the tape on models work, I have never seen one on a bow. Any info would be great. Thanks

1963 was the first year for the spring arm and that was the 8 arrow. the 4 arrow spring arm didn't show up until 1965.
To mount the tape-on the brackets are bent to conform to the limb angle. Tape can be used but residue can be left when removing the quiver, of the tape does not hold up well in sunlight. I have used thick "O" rings -4 on each end- slid down the limb and over the pads. I have also used the heavy duty clear strech wrap and done a few wraps around the bow and then place the quiver and wrap over the pads. Then if you want to make it look better cover the clear wrap with camo tape.
The spring arm quiver will work well as it was designed for that bow. Usually any noise problem will  be caused by not mounting the quiver correctly.

You can buy thin foam tape at the drugstore, put that on the bow under the metal pads so the bow won't get scratched. And then put additional foam tape over the quiver pads so that sticky tape does not contact the bow. I also used to glue a small piece of inner tube under the metal tabs so that they could not scratch the bow. Personally I would not put a quiver on a nice bow like that. A Bear back quiver from the period might be a better solution.

Bjorn, I shoot all my bows with quivers on, and since I was going to be using this for small game and stumping I want accuracy to be perfect. But you may be onto something, I do use Tim Roberts Absarokee quiver for roving.

What is the wrong way to put a spring arm quiver on?

Here the upper arm is wrong. I have seen the lower arm done wrong more often by it being reversed from what you see in this picture.
 
This correct for top and bottom.
