No longer "bowless" :-)
« on: May 08, 2013, 08:23:00 AM »
Haven't been around for a bit.
Some old age issues that "rearranged" my life/income (neither good lol)and in the process my 59K went the way of the web.

I didn't even bowhunt last year.  Just too much on my plate and mind.  Probably a wrong move since it did NOT help a bit.       :knothead:

Anyway, I bit the bullet and said enough is enough, I gotta shoot.

As is so often the case, God smiled upon me when I had let him down and once again I'll have some of Papa Bear's creations to take afield unless the crap hits the fan "worser".       :)

But as is the case so much in our lives another one popped onto my monitor while I was yakking with a buddy and I was just running random searches.

It might be peanut butter sandwiches for a couple weeks but hardly the first time I've done THAT!

Even with a lifetime hunting license here in my home state I never went turkey hunting till this year. Seems a little boring to me but have not shot one either. A long time scattergunner  I just cant wrap my head around shooting something standing STILL with a shotgun....but with a 39lb 59K....NOW THERE I might get a few giggles should all work in my favor, for next year.

Wish me luck. I'll  post better photos of it after it arrives and she gets cleaned up.

Welcome back...and congratulations on those two gems.  If you're going to start again, why not with those?

Saw the old post from 2009 on Authentic Replica 1959 Kodiak Strings.

Did Trap or anyone start making them?

I'm in "need" of one.

Normally, I have shot Flemish twist but hey.....if they were good enough for Fred, I have no issue using one replicated like the originals......besides........COOL!!!

God Bless

Opinions if you would please?

Photos are poor. Camera going to  pot and photos are taken 90 degree of the other showing the "lines" in the photo that are not grain as they appear in the one.

Shown next to the 59 Grizzly sight window what WOOD would you say this is in the 59 Kodiak sight window?

It really really appears to be the same as the entire riser to me but thought I may be incorrect.

MY call on this is Redwood but easily could be "darkened" purple heart?  I need the wood grain experts on this one.

DB prefix if that is any help.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I found this interesting as well.

Hmmmm. Well, once again, few replies.

I hope I am not intruding but thank you all for your help in the past.

Hunt safely
