69 Kodiak Hunter

Just bought a 69 Kodiak hunter haven't received it yet. looks to be in great shape. What is it worth? I know thats a wide open question, just curious...

From the ones i see on here for sale, they go between $185 and $250.The ways things are nowdays, i expect most are bringing on the low side.There have been a lot of very nice bears for sale here over the last year,some i know had to be very hard to let go of and worse when they are not bringing as much as they were 5 years ago.Kodiak hunters are not sought after by collectors like a reguler kodiak so dont bring nearly as much money but they are great bows and a bargain as a shooter, plus they have very nice wood and good lookers too.

I paid $150.00 for my "69 hunter on this site a year ago. Its a nice bow, 50# @ 28 but feels a little heavier.

Tunames, how do you like the way it shoots? I shot mine a good bit this morning.I love it, smooth,and fits my hand so nice!Most of them have nice wood too.

Am I missing something?  I'm really not trying to be sarcastic but to answer your question, it's worth what you paid and not a penny more or less at the time the auction closed.

It's a good time to be a buyer if you're looking for vintage bows to shoot, appreciate, hunt with or just have lying around.  Bows are cheap right now compared to what they were just a few years ago.  Hard to say where they will be a few years in the future.

I'm the caretaker of 10-12 very nice Bear Kodiaks that I have hanging around here that I shoot often and enjoy thoroughly.  Every year I watch their market value decrease but I could care less.  Not planning on selling them anyway.

I have a 62 Kodiak that I probably could have sold for $650.00 to $800.00, if I had sold it in 2012 when the bow was 50 years old.  It might bring half of that now.  No regrets, I still like shooting it and enjoy dusting it off occasionally.

Got the bow looks real nice! I believe it's a Shedua riser with green glass and white tips. What is a good brace height to start with? A 57" string (60' amo) only puts it about 6 3/4 I've brought it up to 7 1/4 but I'll need to go with a shorter string. The string on it was only 50" I don't think it went to that bow. I've never seen one like it either, the end loops look like paracord.

I like a brace on my '68 KH around 8.5", and buy 56" strings for this 60" bow.
