Which is rarest????
« on: November 29, 2013, 02:19:00 PM »
A listing on the big auction site for a rare 67.5 Grizzly got me thinking and looking at my cd catalog. The 67.5 grizzly, which I have in good shape and 52lbs., is listed with tawnyglass and the 67 is listed with grey glass. I've never seen the grey glass model so I'm assuming it is more collectible. Looks like all the 67 grizzly's on the auction site right now are actually 67.5s. On the hunt for a grey glass 67 now  ;)

Possibly similar to the situation with the 67 Kodiak.  Although there is one in the catalog, it carries a 66 serial number,  Bear did not make any new Kodiaks in 67.  They sold 66 models that were left over.  This was because they were coming out with the 67.5 catalog introducing the Super Kodiak and the Kodiak Hunter. Check your serial number to see if it has a 66 a 67 serial number.

Not sure if this is right...just my thoughts.

Photo bucket and this iPod do not get along so well. My griz is brown glass, serial number is 7r2**5, 58", 52#, brass colored coin, and the decals are green. Bow is one hell of a shooter!

That is what threw me, I thought tawnyglass would be tan.

Not according to the cd catalog. It lists the 67 grizz with grey glass, but the pic of the bow show it with brown. 67.5 catalog lists with tawny glass and shows the brown glass in the pic. I always thought tawny was brown and I think the grey glass listing was a typo.

I'm surprised the catlogue shows the '67 bow with brown glass.I believe the catologues were printed a few months before the new models were actually in production and sometimes show the previous year's model. The 1966 model Grizzly had gray glass so it stands to reason that the early 67 production could too. I have three or four 66 Grizzlies but only one 1967 at this time. I haven't owned that many of the 67 models but they were all brown glass versions.
