FAHLIN MFG CO. COLUMBIA MO...Added Pictures

This is the first that I have heard of Fahlin Mfg. Co. located in Columbia, MO.

I'm interested in any historical info about this company and their bows.

I saw that bow also and thought it interesting, but like you, I never heard of the company.  Is it lemonwood?

I don't know the wood type, but will get better pictures when the bow arrives.

I have a lead on an old bowhunter from the Columbia area, and I hope he can give me some history.

Would appreciate it if anyone else could post some history on the company or bow.

I contacted an old bowhunter from the Columbia area, and this is the info he sent me.
"They were famous for other woodworking endeavors in plane props . They made snowshoes and ski's ........most likely arrow shafts? ..........."

And apparrently made one bow

I did a search on Fahlin, and found this:

"In 1939 the Nicholas Beasley Aircraft Company sold out to Air Associates of New York, and Ole Fahlin accepted an offer
to move his propeller factory to Columbia, Missouri. The aircraft industry was resurging at the time and the Fahlin
propellers were in demand. This demand increased as World War Two approached and Ole's propeller factory was
producing all types of propellers, especially for the flight training aircraft such as Ryan, Timm, and Stearman, and as the
war progressed the factory also turned out heavy test ’clubs” for the large military engines. The propeller
factory worked full bore throughout the war years, and then suddenly in 1945 the war was over and contracts were
canceled. There was no way to sustain the business with only limited civilian propeller orders (some skis and bows and
arrows were also produced) and the Fahlin Corporation was eventually dissolved."

The bow arrived, and is in great condition, except for one small rub on the limb.

Still interested in any info about these bows, and Fahlin Corporation.

I used to own a pair of bear-paw Fahlin snowshoes, marked U.S. and used by the 10th Mountain Division in WW2.  Knew about the propeller contracts but did not know they made bows!
