Bear Ptarmigan (Sears Bow)

Hello all, I was recently given a couple Bear recurves, a 50# Kodiak Mag and the other is marked Bear and Sears and called a Ptarmigan.  This one looks just like a 58" Grizzly to me. Maybe maple riser with black glass belly and back. Looks like it has 1967P for a serial number. I'm not interested in value as this was a gift but I would like to shoot it. It's straight and has no stress marks and is in pretty darn good shape.

It's 58" and 45#. What should I put on it for a string? I'm assuming ff strings shouldn't be used. What length would I need for this bow and what material, b50?

14 strand Dacron. Some will say 4 inches shorter but I like to twist my strings up tight so would go with 3 inches shorter then the bow and make the string at 55".

I have been building my strings about 3 1/2" short.  I will start with about 7 1/8 brace height and be at 6 3/4 after about ten shots.  Just be prepared to keep twisting until the string settles in.
