I'd have to agree, that belt buckle is AMAZING. The detail is so spot on with the mountains, the accuracy of the recurve shape and the Bear broadheads ... Wow!
There's something about holding a longbow in your hand!

I am confused. Is the knife one that Fred owned/carried/used or just the same type he owned/carried/used??

Nick Fred owned it but does not appear used.  It is a 1974 Puma given to Robert in 1977. I double checked with a few people before making the purchase. I asked Patsy Wiseman Snider who worked for Fred for years, was his neighbor and the Executive secretary of the FBSC working beside Frank Scott. I wanted to know if Fred just gave these away or if it was his. Anyway she said it's one that Fred  likely had as a back up. She made no mention of these knives being handed out as gifts and that Fred and Robert talking about what Fred used for a knife sparked the generous gift.

Beautiful collector pieces as always Shane! Before the Hunter's Pal and Hunter's Friend Puma made the Jagnicker a very handsome knife the same size as the Hunter's Pal and featuring a beautiful silver pommel (yes like an idiot I sold one I had),  During WW2 Puma and perhaps others, made knives and bayonets for the German military.

Bjorn, I have a Rodger Williams sheffield knife I bought at an antique store. Guessing WWII. It has some notches on the top of blade. I am guessing not from Stag harvests. Someone told me it was ground down like a para troopers knife. I am not a collector of that stuff. Just couldn't pass up the only thing close to hunting gear in the shop.

I have a brief case with knives. One knife is a fixed blade but  has a folding guthook and sawblade in the handle. The second is a 10" dagger, third is a puma style and last one is a folder with knife blade, gut hook, and saw blade and wine corkscrew.there is a stick sharpener all handles are genuine stag. You lift up the tray of knives and under is a sheath for each one in green leather. There was a business card in Russian language.I was told the the East Germans made these knives and case for Russian Officers in the 50's or 60's.Really uninque but I use them for hunting and cleaning game. The dagger has not been used yet but you never know.I bought this set on this site a few years ago.Kip

Somewhere on the internet I recall seeing older (late 1950's) Puma knives with black handles and bear logos imbedded. Anybody else seen them?

Bjorn,
What are the handles of the knife and file made of? Ebony? Horn? That set looks great!
