Duco On Bohning ???
« on: December 16, 2007, 08:35:00 PM »
I have made lots of arrows and used Duco on other types of finish but never over Bohning products. My question is can you use it for glueing feathers over my Bohning crown dip? I went to use my fletch tite and it was jelled but I have lots of Duco and before I glue up any I wanted to see if anyone else had tried it ...Thanks & God Bless! Keefers <")))><

I have used Duco a lot on Bohning Crown Dip, the only thing I would suggest is to leave it in the clamp a little longer than you would with Fletch-tite.  The only thing you might notice is that Duco drys a little yellow, and not as clear as Fletch-tite.  It never bother me, and it held the feathers on just fine.

Like you I have better luck with Duco when fletching over oil finished shafts, but when I am fletching over boning crown dips, I use fletch-tite. Duco would probably work fine, but the fletch-tite tubes make it so much easier to use.

Thanks alot guys and I took my Jo/Jan jig to work this morning and in between my work orders I got them all glued up with Duco... I wasn't sure but took the Duco with me and stopped by Wally World to get Fletch tite but old lady said all the archery stuff been put away already so I went to work and used the Duco anyway... My nephew watched my house while my wife and I went to China to adopt our baby girl this past spring and the arrows are a little Thank You and Christmas present at the same time type of thing...Gray crown dip, 10" taper, Blue barred cock feather and two traditional barred hens with black cresting and black nocks...Wish I knew how to put pics up.. God Bless and Thanks again Keefers <")))><
