It is with a heavy heart to inform everyone who is a fan of Bill Stewart that his wife Katherine passed away at the age of 94. Bill and Katherine Stewart are the grandparents of my wife.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Please pass along the sympathies from the collectors in the entire archery community who are big fans of Bill's contributions. The age of 94 is a wonderful life, but it is never easy to loose  a loved one, regardless of their age. My Mother was 88 when she passed away, and my father was just 39, which is far too young. Right before Christmas, one of my childhood neighbors, who I have been friends with for over 60 years, lost his mother who was 105. Even though everyone was prepared for months with the knowledge that the end was at hand, when it happened it was still tragic, as it always is.

Knowing our loved ones will never be gone as long as we keep them in our memories; and knowing they are in a better place, is of great comfort.

Sorry to hear that.  Bill Stewart was born in Haynesville, LA., a few miles south of the Arkansas border, about an hour from my home in Ruston.  His birthplace had been misspelled in a published article  and I couldn't locate a town with that spelling so called him. I  enjoyed a lengthy and interesting conversation with him.  He confirmed that his birthplace was Haynesville, LA.

It's for sure that if you shoot or collect Bear bows, then Bill Stewart probably had a hand in its design.  Ms. Stewart may even have offered her opinion up too, so God bless the Stewart family.
