Bear Coin
« on: February 07, 2016, 03:42:00 PM »
I have a 1962 Bear Polar ,the coin is pewter and what looks like black paint on it.Most of the black is missing I have been kicking around the idea of refinishing the bow.I would like to refinish the coin to original ,would a refinish hurt the value of the bow if I wanted to sell some where down the road.

The Polar line has never been all that popular with collectors so a refinish will not likely hurt the value in the least...those pewter coins are a bit of a mystery to me...as you say it appears that all but the raised bear and the outside edge are painted black...interestingly enough the best one I have ever seen is on my late model 1961 Kodiak

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42
