i shoot at 14 yards in my basement. i couldn't bring in the hay bales so i shot into boxes stuffed with plastic. then one day i was looking for something to shoot into, against the wall were two rolls of insulation. the kind you can buy at menards or lowes. they come wrapped in plastic. i got back ten yards and shot. works great. arrows pull out real easy to. i set it up on a table and used and old blanket for a back stop if needed.

I've got a yellow jacket bag target hanging from my ceiling.  Overall I can get a distance of about 10 yards, but I shoot a lot of 8 yarders just working on form.  Best piece of advice I've seen given so far is.... watch your ceilings!  With some extreme cant I can shoot standing up but I usually just take the time to practice shooting while kneeling, sitting, etc.  The winter is a good time for practicing form and ground-blind-style shots.
Good luck!

My basement range is 54 feet.  It's just about perfect.  I have a big box stuffed with foam rubber squares.  So far I haven't missed, though on a couple of occasions, the upper tip of my bow has impacted with the heating duct work and man does that echo!

I've had an 8 yard from arrow tip to target range in the basement for about a year now and it's the best home improvement i've ever done.We have such a good time shooting any time of day or night.I'm a lot better shot for it.

I just set up a 15 yard range in my finished basement.  Best thing I have done as far as archery goes.

I put up a small target then some of the durarock from Home Depot.  I do get a wild arrow every so often and it penetrates the durarock before the wall.  No damage to the cedars.

I would invest in a big packaged of nocks though!

I shoot in the house, I can shoot through the living room and than thru the den out into the kitchen. I get 39ft. which is 13 yards. i bust up lots of nocks so I only shoot 2 arrows at a go. 3 and I break nocks, two and I only break them once in a while. My daughter who married Nomad88 on here just bought a house together and their basement has 9ft. ceilings and is 62ft. long so we can shoot 19 yards. We will have a range up right after X-mas. Shawn

I sandwiched the edge of a 4 X 6 horse stall matt(Southern states for 40.00) between 2 2 x 4's and hung it from the joist with eye hooks, hung a bad target in front and can shoot about 15 yeards or so, great practice.

I have a carbon filled bag that I hung from the floor joists. It is on it's third season. I shoot at 1 1/2" circles. The best $30 I've spent in a long time.

I was shooting in the basement last night. I can actually get a solid 10 yards out of it. I’m excited to be able to shoot all winter.

Close range indoors practice is a great way to work on the little things that we often forget when outdoors on a 3D range.

I shoot a few dozen arrows at 2-3 yds only concentrating on one aspect of the shot at a sesion- release, anchor, back tension etc.

Other times I will put a piece of masking tape vertically down the bag target and focus soley on hitting the tape - this helps eliminate left-right misses.

I focus on very small spots- other arrow holes, dots made with a marker etc.

I can shoot outto about 12 yds in my basement.

Other times I'll shoot with the kids and play tic-tac-toe. I'm working on making a target face like a dart board, so we can shoot "darts".
...stood alone on a montaintop, starin out at a great divide, I could go east, I could go West, it was all up to me to decide, just then I saw a young hawk flyin and my soul began to rise......
