Ben Pearson Razorback 711 info wanted *PICS in reply*
« on: September 12, 2016, 12:38:00 PM »
Hi everyone, new member here trying to find some info on a traditional recurve bow I was given by my grandfather. It's a Ben Pearson Razorback 711, but I can't seem to find much information on it online. I'm wanting to know what year it was made, how long it was in production, the rarity of it, how much it's worth, what type of string I should use on it, etc. I would love to see some pics and info of it in an old catalog or add. The numbers on it are 11-1173 (serial number?) and 45xx-28". I know it's a 45-47# at 28" draw. I have pictures of it but I'm not really sure how to post pics on here yet. Any info or tips you can give me without seeing pics of it at this time will be much appreciated. Thanks.

The razorback was made in the mid 60's and had brown glass, it was followed by the Javelina in the late 60's. Basicly the same bow. Use a dacron string not fast flight. The bow cost around 50.00 when it was new.

Thanks wadde. My razorback looks like it has red glass on the back and green glass on the belly. Can anyone explain to me how to post pics on this forum?

The only year I see it listed in a catalog is 1966.  It was 62" and offered in weights from 40 to 60#s @28" (draw limit 30"), with a "solid Bubinga handle", fiberglass back and face in "hunting colors", cost $40.
