A conundrum: 1960's US bows contemporary with UK's Marksman bows

The 1966 "full" line-up of Marksman "Forest" bows: King, Knight, Prince, Princess & Ranger.
These bow's were brought to market in: '59 - (original, not sure if or how revised later) Ranger; '64 - Knight; '65 - Princess; '66 - King & Prince.
In a recently acquired brochure, there are hand-written annotations which name contemporary(?) US bow models, wherein lies the conundrum:
- were these the bows that the Marksman models were "derived" from?
- were these the bows that were seen as the nearest US competitors?
- any other answers?
