Hello everyone. This is Steve. Thought I'd give you an update on things and perhaps some additional information that may be useful.
Background/Personal History: I'm 49. 5'7" 170. Thought I was in pretty good shape - I could hit the floor and rip off 100 pushups just like that. Don't smoke or drink. Have had no typical "markers" for a heart attack. 2 years ago, my lab results for cholesterol were all normal.
Per the above info, I was quite shocked that I had a heart attack. An angioplasty was performed on the circumflex artery, which runs around the back of the heart. 2 stents were placed in the blockage areas. I'm feeling fine, but there's more coming.
I had more blockage in the anterior descending artery, right at a branch. Doctor said that they have seen poor results with stenting at both branches. Seems that it just doesn't hold up very long before it plugs up again. Therefore, a bypass is recommended and will be scheduled somewhere toward the end of January. They need to wait 'til then to allow the minimal damage to the muscle from the HA to heal.
So, in the absence of a miracle, I'm getting myself ready for the bypass.
The Bible says that all things work together for good. Right now, I may not know what good is involved here, but I do believe that God will make a way for good to come forth.
A sincere thanks to Tim (shafcaster x5) for taking the initiative to post this and all who went to the throne room on my behalf!!!!!!!!!! I, and my family appreciate it very much. What a wonderful thing to have a website like this and friends like you - whom I've never even met in person. Thanks again.
