"Friends"
« on: March 18, 2007, 10:01:00 AM »
Friends
I'm not talking about your everyday friend. I'm speaking of the ones that give you the feeling of family. The ones that you would fight a grizzly off of , instead of trying to beat them back to the truck. The ones that will never know how much they mean to you. I will not name the " Friends" but they will know who they are. I hope the people here will bare with me , I need to do this!
I've had a hard time the past few years both financially and personal, these "Friends" have been there to listen, offer suggestions, offer support oshave broad shoulders for tears.
The first one, I hunt with and spend time with in the field. He's like a brother to me, sometimes he even has to set me straight. He's been there whenever needed, I only hope he understands the thanks I have for our friendship. He's a great hunter, person, and "friend". And for that I love him.
Second, is a man I don't get to spend as much time with as I would like to. I wish we lived closer to each other. He's had his own hard times, but he always took the time to listen, ev en when he was busy himself. You know who you are " I love you, Bro.
Third is a family, They've offered there home and hearts to me , never asking for something in return. The man , I've never had the chance to spend time with in the wonderful outdoors, but I promise to make a change of that soon. I was given a gift of sorts by him and his family a few days ago, that will be cherished till the end of my days.
The woman, well " a diamond" she's like a sister I didn't have, as sweet as they come. There's no telling how many times , I've poured my heart out to her. She's always listened and always been there .
Then the 2 kids , the love and respect that mom and dad have brought them up with, flows through them.  I love them all , I hope they understand that. To all my "Friends" , I hope I can be as good a "friend" to you all as you've been to me. Thank you from my heart, Ilove you all.
Man cannot go through life by himself, he needs "friends" . And then sometimes he need to say thank you and even times I love you. This world would be a whole lot better. Thank you for letting me write this down I needed to do this.
If you've never been in the woods at daylight, and seen the world come alive, you haven't " Lived".

SB,

I'm betting most every man and woman who hangs here knows EXACTLY what you're talking about.

I've made some incredible friends and brothers and sisters here that I have never met and likely never will w/ many of them...but they've been my anchor through a long dark road over the past years.

I've made mistakes and burned some bridges in that time, but God never wastes a hurt and I've learned things I might not have otherwise.

God means for us to be in "community" and this is part of that plan, I'm sure of it. Trad archery in general has been family to me wherever I've roamed and drew sticks with others of like mind...and then the Gang has been a place where friendships have been forged and remain that kindred place.

This ain't no coincidence..of that I'm sure. It's GOD-incidence, all the way!

Thank you Lord... and praises for all Christ does through community for and through us all!
