I ask, my fellow outdoorsmen/women, to say a prayer for my grandfather, Lowell Parker. I've just learned that his battle with the ravages of old age came to a close today when he took his own life.
I was fortunate to be able to share many chats with him about past outdoor experiances. While he was a gun hunter, and retired from hunting due to poor health, he loved mentioning to me how he too, took to bowhunting (although, thanks to a later tear in his rotor cuff, he was forced to hang up his longbow far too early...)
The outdoors lost a great man today. My only hope is that one day I'll be able to hunt beside him like I'd always hoped too...
