Dave, I've ruptured both biceps, one two years ago and the other last spring. As you have stated time is a factor. On my first it happened on a fall, and had surgery imeadiately. It healed good and is stronger then ever. The 4 month witing period is real and it takes that long for the bone to grow around the tendon and hold it. You will be able to use it well befor that but you risk pulling it lose and rendering the surgery useless. Not worth it! On my second one I was lifting a beam and pop. But it didn't ball up as much as the first one did and I kept telling myself that I had just dislocated it. After a few weeks and hurting alot more I went in and got the bad news. It was about three weeks later and got my butt chewed on as well. I would like to tell you that it dosen't mater but that would be lying. The second surgery was a little rougher and they had to cut through more tissue to pull things back in place. However it has healed and has held very well. I did end up with some nerve dammage in my forarm but nothing more then a little numbness. I have a friend that did not have the sergery and still suffers and has a very weak arm. Glad to hear you are going forward and we will be praying for a good recovery for you. Please head the warning and don't push the time factor. I am the same way about hunting but better to miss a few times out this year vrs. alot of future hunts.....Keenan
