almost hate to ask... :o
« on: August 22, 2008, 01:12:00 PM »
Folks,

So many here, known and unknown have carried so many, including me in prayer, that I hate to come here for something so basic...

I've been blessed with the job offer across the state. They even have a relocation package.

I could use some prayers though for finding decent housing. I don't want to rush into a new area and job and buy a house in today's market.

I want to rent a nice, quiet small house for me to have a quality of life. I can't get help finding one as "renting" a house is not on the list of help services. Buying is.  :)  Odd how contracts go... :)There is a good bit of pressure to make decisions for which I have no information.

I'm having a tough time finding anything and getting hooked up. Some great people from Gang are talking it around, but this isn't a skill set of mine, long distance house hunting!

If you've energy after all the deserving other needs expressed here, perhaps you'd say one for me to keep an open spirit and know God's leading in this search for housing?

Thanks, folks!

Amen to AA Prayers sent. BTW the housing market in PA isn't too bad compared to other parts of the country.

Depends where I guess...plenty of hooches for sale, but folks can't get mortgages so the scooped up the rental housing. At least according to some realtors on the ground out there.

I'm headed out Tuesday to see what I can shake loose being there!

Thanks for the prayers and constant encouragement. Seems bigger'n life from this view some days and then I feel rotten for not still riding a cloud for having gotten the job!

Oh to be done with wavering faith...  :(

Thanks, Dave...

Hit me hard this weekend after church that I'm so fixed on being done with all the sacrificing that has been a companion the past few years, I forgot to ask God what He might want from me and where He might want me.

I'm trying hard the past 30 hrs to "let go; Let God" in all this.

Thanks to all for prayers. Be back on Sat. to update.  :)

I'm praying for you man, and remember there is no request too small to God. It says a lot about a person that will ask prayer for smaller things in life as well as the bigger ones.

thanks, everyone. Got back late last evening.

I'd heard how the "cost of living" was so cheap out there, but gas is $.30/gal more than here, and housing was tough. Lots of homes for sale... but folks can't float the 20% down money even with good credit...so they sit.  and the rental houses I'd hoped to get, were pretty slim, pretty darn gnarly and pretty darn pricey! Seller's market as it were.

A lot of folks here stepped up, emailed their friends out there who emailed me and their friends.  I had a lot of prayers and real-time help.

One agency realtor contacted sellers whose houses weren't moving and 2 opted to rent for a year... I was averse to anything in a "development" but this woman kept asking me to see a "condo"... assuring me it was "different" than some.

After a bunch of very tacky places, I agreed. It is beautiful...and I felt God's nudge on this one.  An elderly couple bought the condo 3 years ago and her health crashed so they moved to the Carolinas to be near one daughter... and they can't sell.

they have a large mortgage payment, so they agreed to rent to me for a reasonable amount to lessen their burden for a year.

It's a wonderful place. Not the country setting with place to shoot, but a very, very nice abode with many features I could only dream about. I sense God's hand in this... helping them and helping me. I'm in a quiet country setting in Beaver County, PA with a Beaver, PA address.

I hope it's a blessing to us both. It's way more than I anticipated paying, but then reality has its own final say in life!  :)

I have no snow to shovel, yard to mow, etc. I can focus on the job 100% and have a very nice place to live and entertain friends I hope to make and current ones come visit!

Thanks for the many prayers.  I have a ton of work to do sorting and deciding what to do and take...moving company rep comes Tuesday to tell me what they will take and won't...what they'll pack etc... gonna get busy quick!

Thanks for all the leads, prayers, emails, etc.

I've come to rely heavily on this place as my "community" of believers! You/we never know how many we might touch...

Keep the Son in your eyes!

getting in on this one late also, but prayers of thanks going up that you found a nice place.  Also, if it's his will, that you will find the perfect place during the next year.

Thanks, Guys....

Now that the housing part is falling into place, it's once again back to focusing on the job itself...and my continued prayers to our Lord for strength, insight, peace and patience as this unfolds.

Fear is never far behind on things new, but excitement is so far running ahead!  :)
