Couple of prayer requests
« on: October 01, 2008, 09:08:00 AM »
My wife has a coworker who's Uncle turned a mower over on himself and crushed his skull. They are only giving him a 20% chance of pulling through this. Also I was called yesterday and scheduled for an interview on the 8th for a very good job on Ft Knox which is close to me. This position would offer insurance and other benefits so if you don't mind remember my family in your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers sent for both.

George,

You know you'll be in my most special of prayers. I know things get hard... and you know I know...

Just don't do what I know is so tempting...put so many of your eggs in that interview basket that if it doesn't play out the way you'd like, you don't crash and burn.

Trust in His wisdom and Grace.  Confess it's all beyond you and anything that comes of it will have to be of Him.

God's love isn't a lottery ticket we play and win... But it is LOVE--unconditional, undeserved and undeniable... but we have to surrender totally to His Will.

Y'know how tough it's been for me to do that since 9/11, but I really believe it's the only way.

Prayers for the mower accident victim as well, according to His will, may he be made whole to amaze the doctors, and if not God's will, that he pass peacefully and God's loving Grace comfort and sustain the family.

Keep the Son in your eyes, George!!

They removed the gentlemans life support yesterday. The docs said he may live in a vegative state or he may die. I haven't heard but am focusing on praying for the families comfort either way. Also now have an interview on Tue so please remember my famaly also if you don't mind. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the gentleman's decline. May God show mercy to him and his family...

As for your interviews: Sunday I was visiting a small rural church a friend pastors... the opening Hymn was "How Firm a Foundation". As I read and sang the words, tears streamed down my face.

I have copied and pasted them for us both.  Don't ever, ever give up. I had a new interview today myself, George.  Won't know for a while, but hope is in Him.
***********************************
How Firm A Foundation:

How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
You, who unto Jesus for refuge have fled?

In every condition, in sickness, in health;
In poverty’s vale, or abounding in wealth;
At home and abroad, on the land, on the sea,
As thy days may demand, shall thy strength ever be.

Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid;
I’ll strengthen and help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of woe shall not thee overflow;
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

When through fiery trials thy pathways shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply;
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine.

Even down to old age all My people shall prove
My sovereign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And when hoary hairs shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs they shall still in My bosom be borne.

The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose,
I will not, I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.
****************************

Amen, Brother, Amen...

I am shell shocked. Was all but offered the position yesterday but he backed out this morning. Please keep my family in your prayers and I will do the same for all of you.

George, you're in daily prayer here too!

Many companies are so fearful of what might happen depending on the election and the market's response to the bail out.

None of that matters to us seeking work, but it can be solace to know it's just not us. In all things, God's will...

Some days it's easier than others to wrap one's mind, heart and spirit around that concept... and I get way down myself as things go critical on this end.

I try to take heart in things like the hymn I copied and pasted above for folks like you, me, C2 and others we don't know.
