Update on the surgery
« on: October 08, 2008, 06:19:00 PM »
Just received more info from the surgeon today. They are now planning on taking out all of the mass. They said it is surrounding the tube from the kidney to the bladder. They believe it is a fatty mass that may have cancer in it. If it does have cancer removing it will most likely take care of it but they will know more when they get it out.
OK that's their plan I'm still praying that God will remove it before surgery and it will be an opportunity to witness of His Love and Grace. If it His will that I go through with the surgery I know He will take care of everything. He's more than met my needs through some very trying times. He has more than earned the trust given Him.
Thanks for your prayers and God's very best to you.

Well, bro.... thanks for sharing your news.

I'll join in prayer that when the unzip yer gizzard, they go "What da?" and "Where'd it go?"

If not, may God guide the surgeon's hands and find every stinkin cell of anything foreign and of the devil.

We're pullin for ya bro...big time!

Hey Galen,
Look at these scriptures very closely, they should cause the living water inside you to just burst up and overflow! God has shown you HIS glory in HIS son and may those words sink deep into your heart!

Be Blessed!

Isaiah 53:4-5
4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Matthew 15:30 - A vast crowd brought to him people who were lame, blind, crippled, those who couldn’t speak, and many others. They laid them before Jesus, and he healed them all.

Hebrews 13:8 - 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

This am I had a preop meeting at the hospital. After the blood work and other tests I met with the RN to go over everything. When she was finishing up I mentioned that God has been watching out for me. She replied we all need Him watching us. Then she looked at me and asked if she could pray with me. Naturally I said yes and we had a great time with Jesus there in the middle. When I was leaving she made sure I knew that this wasn't a coincidence but God's plan which I was in agreement with. It is SO cool to have God's peace and joy in the midst of this.
THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE FOR YOUR PRAYERS THEY CARRY ME.

Well they got the surgery done but it wasn't as good as we'd hoped. The tumor was much larger than we were led to believe. It was the size of a football and was affecting too many organs. To get all of it out they would have had to remove my kidney and colon. So they sent a sample to be tested I'll know more next week. Man they ripped me open. I've got a 12" incision, man they could have put in a zipper. You all take care of yourselves.

I'd often wondered about those zippers, bud... seem they could come in handy as we age!

Sorry it wasn't as positive as you'd hoped... I had a neighborlady that had a basketball size fatty tumor removed from inside her! She felt great afterwards.

Continued prayers for a quick recovery from the surgery and that long incision... and that whatever they find out is totally positive!

Let's keep a positive mental attitude about all this... We got yer back with a lot of prayers for it all tobe benign and another way to deal with what's left in there, Galen!

Keep the Son in your eyes! Take care of the incision!
