Bowman0202 in Critical Condition
« on: December 01, 2008, 09:09:00 PM »
Hey Friends, there's a fellow traditional archer here in Houston who I had the pleasure of meeting recently. His son and I work together but, you may know him as Bowman0202. Mr. Telge is a really good man who needs our prayers at the moment. I'm passing along a short explanation of his status from his son.

Tim Telge, known as Bowman0202, has been in critical condition for a week now. Two weeks prior, he had bad bronchitis and a small touch of pneumonia. On Monday, Nov 24th, he woke up choking as he couldn't breathe. By the time the ambulance got him to the hospital, he had already crashed once or twice, and had been revived. Unfortunately he crashed multiple times (about 6-7) over a 2-hour period and received "vigorous" CPR. At one point, he had no pulse for approximately 10 minutes!!! The doctors attempted a heart and lung bypass machine as a last resort during that 10 minute session, and were able to revive him. On Monday and Tuesday, the doctors and nurses gave him no chance of survival. However, Bowman0202, his family, church, and friends all believe in the power of prayer. Every day, he has recovered above and beyond what any of the doctors or nurses expected or could believe. On Thursday, a doctor told a family member that they are all "shocked" at his recovery. As of Monday, Dec 1st, he is still in ICU, which is never a "good thing." But the only machines he is hooked up to is a ventilator (on lowest setting, and he is doing 66% of breaths on his own) and an intermittant dialysis machine. He was awake, but in poor spirits on Saturday (of course, he has no idea what he's gone through). When family would say to him, "Dad, you are doing AWESOME," he would shake his head "No." When his son asked if he wanted to go home and shoot his bows, he nodded "Yes." He still has a long way to go, and things can change suddenly. Bowman0202's family humbly asks that the bow-community who know him, pray for his continued recovery. He is still in ICU, has a long journey ahead, and an unknown future. But they are trusting God, and covet all prayers on his behalf. They know how much he loves going to Stickbow/Bowsite and TradGang. If you know Bowman0202, please feel free to follow his progress at:  www.timtelge.blogspot.com

Amen to prayers for healing and prayers of comfort, courage, and faith added.

Thanks folks and keep 'em coming!  I'm sure the family and Mr. Telge will take comfort from your prayers and so far his steps towards recovery have been nothing short of miraculous.  I wish I could convey what a really nice man Mr. Telge is.  He's a christian, a father, a former law enforcement officer, and now an attorney (we won't hold that against him).  When he heard from his son, Mark, that I was into trad archery and wanted to learn to make a flemish splice string he envited me over to his house for lunch and a lesson and gave me a book to fill in the details.  He has a considerable collection of longbows both laminated and selfbows and shoots the heck out of them for relaxation.  Keep the prayers coming.  I don't think it's gods plan to take him any time soon.

Prayers sent from Georgia.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

It always tears at my heart to read how good people can be laid low so easily...

Add my prayers for his total recovery to others' here and with those of Tim's network of believers. Your testament to his Faith is reassuring...may God grant Tim full recovery that Tim might witness even more ferverntly to His Glory and Grace!

For Tim, his Christian and temporal family, prayers for peace that passes all understanding.

Tell them to Keep the Son in their eyes!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
