I had an epipheny
« on: March 14, 2009, 07:53:00 PM »
In my prayer and Bible reading and search for answers something dawned on me today.
The Bible says Jesus came so that we could not only live, but have life more abundantly. It further states that we have not because we ask not and when we ask we ask too little. It says that no man would give his child a snake if the child asked him for a fish. If we give to our children when they ask because of our love for them when we fall short of God's perfection, How much more will God Our Heavenly Father give to us? How much does God have to give? From everlasting to everlasting, there is no end to God's supply of ANYTHING. All the Bible says we have to do to get the desires of our heart is to 1) Ask 2) Believe and 3) Recieve.
Don't believe neighsayers. They contradict God. Believe God and lean not upon your or anyone else's understanding. The Word says that is how we are to live. Face everyday with a grateful heart and from the time you awake to the time to lay your head down again give thanks, praise and show the World the Joy that is the life of a believer. Life is not supposed to be a constant trial for a believer. Satan has no power over those who believe. If you have faith even as a mustard seed you can bring down a mountain. God said it. I believe it. That settles it. Truly walk in faith. Don't be against what you don't want, Be FOR what you do want. Do say, I want to be out of debt. Don't be anti-debt, be pro-properity. Believe that the money you need will allows show up. You don't have to know how. Just trust that God will cause it to happen. Always keep yourself in good spirits with a joyful countenance and a grateful heart and give praise constantly. Live it like you believe it. Don't let doubt creep in. God said it. You get it. It is just like salvation. You didn't do anything to get that gift but Ask, Believe and Recieve. God is the same yesterday, today and forever in all things. So why should prosperity, health, love, happiness, ALL GOOD THINGS be ANY different? Quite simply they shouldn't be.
I pray fervently you accept this word of knowledge I have finally figured out.
Don't just pray for the littlest thing Ask, Believe and Recieve MIGHTILY. Taste and see that the Lord IS GOOD!
No disease is beyond God's ability to heal.
No amount of money beyond his ability to give.
No heart so hard he can't reach it.
And as God showers you with blessings shower those around you with blessings as well. Give and give as that is what we are here for. ]To live abundant lives and be a lamp unto the World. We are the Salt of the Earth. Don't believe in the bad news on TV and in the papers. God is not limited by what the people on TV say or by the stock market or the banks. With God there is NO SCARCITY. I will no longer just pray to get a job. I will believe that as I walk in Faith doors and windows I don't see will open and opportunities will be given to me and Heaped up, pressed down and running over people will give to me beyond my understanding. I will be wealthy, healthy, wise and filled with a joy that surpasses understanding. That IS how God works. Not from who I am or what I can do but through the supreme generosity of God the Father, the Lord of the Harvest. Praise God from whom ALL Blessings FLOW! Great men and women in History knew this "secret" and lived it and that is why we see them now as successes and great individuals. Even those that didn't believe in God trusted that what you believe in and feel strongly and passionately about you can make happen. Many self help books and books on success tout this as their idea but they simply take it from the way God made the Universe. actually I see the Universe AS God. As God is everywhere and in all things what else is God by everything and everything IS the Universe.
    God is Good when? ALL the time.

Thanks, C2 for your sharing!

Somewhere, I thought I also read further on that topic that we sometimes receive not because we do not ask with the right heart.

As your last part suggests, we're to be blessed with the desires of our heart, TO DO HIS WILL and WORK here on earth to further His Kingdom.

Sometimes, I fear that I myself wish for things, for MY comfort, peace and purpose...and not truly have my heart focused on HIS will...and sacrifice of my blessings to further His kingdom!

But alas... first the faith to believe and then the strength, through God working in Us to guide us to do his will!

Thanks, brother...

"....we recieve not because we ask AMISS (Not asking for the right things or with the wrong motive)". Alot of times our prayers (Mine included) are selfish or off the mark of GOD's will for us, that is why they are not answered. GOD's will is a mysterious thing and most times is a good but different than what we would have for ourselves...been there, LOL.

GOD's will in our lives is the most supreme place to be.....and also the darndest thing to figure out sometimes. I know I have been in your spot Curtis, I was basically self/un-employed for close to a year and its a tough spot to be in with a wife and three little ones looking for the next meal. There were alot of times that I just couldnt understand why GOD was not answering my prayers but in the end I realized I was praying AMISS. I had one way that I wanted GOD to fix things and that was the end of the story. Well GOD had another plan that I could not have even thought up, and let me tell you it was much greater than the plan I had, LOL.

I have prayed for you alot Curtis cause I know where you are coming from as I almost lost my house and everything I had....more than 4 times but GOD is faithful and you will pull through this. Just keep your face buried in his word and your kness planted on the ground in prayer and you will find out what his will is and what to pray.

There is a quote By Corrie Ten Boom that I relied on alot and still rely on.

"No pit is so deep that the love of God is not deeper still."
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."

One might then ask of himself... "Who gave me these desires in my heart"

Amen to that!

Its hard to trust some times.... ok alot of the time. Its funny but when you are in the toughest of times its even harder to trust but weathering those storms makes trusting in him in our normal sustainable everyday lives MUCH easier.

Amen Brothers, I was out of work for 4 months and at the brink of loosing my new home when God brought me a new job. I tried to keep faith and trust HIM, and being human, failed, but when HE brought me the verse Math. 6: 24-35, it all made sence and changed my attitude. Three days later I had a job. Praise God Always.

Amen, good stuff! God's best to you C2 and His best is that He loves you always. He lets you know you are a priceless treasure buried in a field of flesh and He gave all that He had to buy that field of flesh so He could have the treasure that you are.

That is good. Laughter is good medicine!

God wouldn't have given each of us a distinctive laugh, if it weren't to be used for good!

So, KillShot, you gonna ever tell what that "other 1/2" was? We can pray for ya brother...  :)  :)
