Tell them!!!
« on: March 29, 2010, 03:43:00 AM »
You never know when things are going to happen so you should always tell the people you love that you indeed love them!

I went from having a normal Friday night at work to driving my wife to the ER with sudden arm and jaw pain…she spend the weekend there for tests but nothing conclusive yet.  Hopefully later this week we’ll know more.

You see them in the bed (lucky this time it wasn’t as serious as last year when she was in the ICU) but it really makes you think how lucky you are to have the ones around you that you love!

Josh,

Same here. Friday I got a call that my 88 yr old dad was being transported to the hospital.

Appears he has had a stroke, but the tests aren't conclusive, but when their speech is slurred, lost use of arms, etc it doesn't matter so much what it is...

Watching a loved one be helpless is surely a hard spot in the road.

Prayers that the tests come back negative but they can find the source of the pain so that isn 't hanging over.

Josh, No truer words words could be spoken.  At the beginning of February I seen my grandparents before they left for a couple months in Florida.  I shook my grandpas hand and told him to have a safe trip and that I would see him in a couple months.  Well they got to Florida and my grandpa got sick.  He spent almost a month in the hospital.  My mom and I went down to see him because he was getting worse.  Well he ended up passing away last Sunday.  All I can think about is if I wouldn't have gone down there I would have never been able to tell him that I loved him.

I always knew that our time here is only temporary and that we never know when we will be called home.  But you never expect it.  Cherish every moment as it's your last because it could very well be.

I pray that your wife makes a full recovery.  It always hurts to watch somebody you love lay in the hospital.

Doc, I will be praying for your dad as well.  Hopefully he too can make a full recovery.

Tim...sorry to hear about your grandpa, I lost my first in '91 and my second in '04.  My last grandparent passed in '08...she was 96.

To everyone…thank you!  Last year she was in the ICU for a day and a half and the hospital for almost 5 total days, it was not fun!  It was an extremely helpless feeling.  I had to get the kids to the grandparents yet needed to be with my wife so it was a race as they live almost 2 hours away.  They were too young to understand what exactly was going on but it still scared my daughter…she is almost 8 now and understood what was going on this time.

She is doing well and will be back to normal hopefully within a day or two…still tired.

Thanks again,

Josh

Prayers continue for comfort and strength. Praying your children see the love you have for your wife and find security and comfort in that.
