Prayers for Chopx2's Mom
« on: June 15, 2010, 07:53:00 AM »
Chopx2, aka Tony, is leading a group of us to Ray Hammonds July 2,3,4th.

I just got word that his Mom was taken into the ER the other night and now moved to ICU. She's in CT and he's in MD.

He has some other challenges going on and now this.

Requesting prayers for Chopx2's family and especially healing for his Mom.

Tony, keep the Son in your eyes...

I got an update from him via email last night. I've not told him I posted and don't know how he'd feel to share details without asking..

...suffice it to say his mom's battling a long fight..had a bunch of hospitalizations in past 6 months...and now this one... might not look good.

Prayers for peace, discernment and strength for his family and his Mom through this tough time.

Thanks to all. I told my sisters about this thread and they were very grateful and honestly shocked that 'strangers' would care. I told her we are all strange...for crying out loud we shoot sticks with strings!  :D    :D    :D

A couple quick details and update. My mom is 79, been battling lymphoma since 1997. Hospitalizations have become increasingly longer and more complicated and frequent - 4 times in last 12 months, 3 times in last 6 months and 2 times last 2 months).

This last time she stopped breathing one night last week and got put on a ventilator. She survived that and is now out of ICU and hopefully going to a nursing home today or tomorrow for 'rehab' before going home. 6 weeks ago 4 days out of the hospital she's making cheese! Fortunately my sister who is an RN was able to get her a room at the place she works.

Her mind and spirit are more than willing.
Her body just isn't able and she can't accept that. I hate to see it. We all know that she's not likely to make it out of the hospital the next time.

I'm taking her 3yo grandson for a visit this weekend hoping he'll lift her spirits. Ironically during my visit last week she was more worried about me than herself. Guess you never stop being a parent.

Her worry: Doc alluded to my other challenges. That has to do with my 35yo wife who is battling brain cancer and paralysis (a complication of the brain surgery) for almost 3 years now.

Thanks again for all the prayers and kindness. I know all of you have your own problems. As I get older I see the things I glossed over in my younger days. Life can be hard and usually is for all of us at some time. Support from friends often is the difference between getting through whole or in pieces.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow’s effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs
