Bad to worse
« on: June 26, 2011, 09:58:00 AM »
Many of you know of my recent employment problems. Well now my wife has lost her job and I have been reduced to 10-15 hrs a week. Also her car blew a head gasket and the cracked the head. ($1400.00) I see no way of keeping afloat. Please pray that we find new jobs soon. Thank you.

You got it!  I just went back to work after 14 months of unemployment.  I start tomorrow.  I had a very generous salary continuation, 2 weeks for every year(30)that runs out... next week!  I'm afraid God and I have very different opinions of what constitutes "just in time". Guess Who's right! I've been where you're at brother....didn't handle it well.  Should have prayed more and worried less, but that's very hard to do when the problems seem relentless!

George,

All I can say is that you know where the path leads if you follow worry and fear...

Any of us could be in the same boat in a heart beat today... I drive 2hrs/day RT to a job that pays less than I made in social service 15 yrs ago and has 1/2 the benefits! And retirement is slipping away as S/S is robbed and Medicare gutted to give to those here illegally!

Yet, I HAVE to remember “If you want to know what God really wants you to do, ask him . . . but if you don’t ask in faith, don’t expect the Lord to give you any solid answer.” James 1:5-6 (LB)

When the road seems steepest and the world the darkest, and we're at the end of our rope, a sign I read said, "Tie a prayer knot and hold on tight!"

Keep on Holding on, George... time in the desert is HIS time to see the strength of our faith.

Keep the Son in your eyes, G!

George, something that has helped me before in worrying about future is something I saw one night in a local newspaper.  I was up late studying for a test that I had to pass to continue my employment.  I had had little time to study because of the new job requirements, all the problems they wanted me to address, and the fact that I had not been in "school" for 20 years.  The newspaper had posted a photo of a church sign saying..."Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there."  I saw it, felt His calm Spirit, and realized it was a Word from the Lord.  He gave me peace about the test, so I could rest in Him that night, knowing He was in control.  I cut out the photo, put it in my billfold, and thanked Him for His Word.  I drove 2 hours the next day, took the 8 hour test, and passed it...no, He passed it for me! God will give you a Word, too, George, if you seek Him together with your wife.  "Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your path."  Rest in His peace tonight, George, because He has plans for you and your family, when you follow Him.

Prayers and more prayers sent from Georgia.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!
