Pray for fairness please
« on: July 20, 2011, 04:33:00 PM »
After being let go from my job unfairly. I was happy to at least get my unemployment approved. Well I just got a call saying my former employer told the UI people that I was still working and have had no reduction of hours!

If this is not ruled in my favor I will owe the money I have been paid in unemployment back and will lose all source of income I have. I haven't had work since 6/29/11.

Steady, George.  Mix-ups happen. People see who they can hose. We can't control what others do, but you just go thru the process of documenting honestly and calmly and we'll pray that prayer of "fairness" you deserve and desire.

It will work out. As some elder of mine used to say, "Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow, it comes with it's own!"

You have appeals and can bring in witnesses and ask for copies of cancelled payroll checks to show you were working and paid...

While I know you have read this passage many times I'm sure I was thinking about this when I was reading this post. I just wanted to share it with you as a reminder to me and all of us who sometimes see this world as a jungle. I have to read this passage and be reminded that I don't have to worry about things in this jungle because my Father is KING of this jungle and that He has my life and He has never lost a life and never will. This is just a reminder to us all;

Matther 6:25-34
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Prayers continue for you this day my brother.......Dusty

Morning, George,

Companies are desperate. I just learned that at least back here where I live, there is no longer a "range" for what companies pay for UC, but that EACH additional lay-off going on UC increases the $$$ they have to pay...forever! :0

Not to justify their position, G, but to share that if there is anything similar rattlinig around KY, that might be why they're fighting so hard.

That, and something I learned with a landlord years back, when folks are down $$$-wise, some folks think it's a safe time to pound on them. Shameful, but true.

I surprised the snot outa the folks who were definitely in the wrong in my situation, and when I got an attorney, they fell all over themselves making things "right."

Cost, but then Justice and Freedom both were never free. I think you get the message in there.

I'm sorry for your troubles, but read something that might be of interest, knowing your heart:
*************
Faithful people keep on keeping on when other people want to give up. Faithful people are diligent and determined. They are persistent.

In 2 Corinthians 4, Paul says you need to get the right perspective when you are going through a problem. Don’t look at the temporary problem; look at the long-term reward. Don’t look at the temporary pain; look at the long-term gain. Don’t look at it with the short-term view, “What’s happening to me right now?” Instead, look at the character that you are building because you haven’t given up. You’re hanging in there.
***************

George, Keep the Son in your eyes!

Good Luck.  If your company can prove they issued paychecks and their bank can prove those checks have been cashed by YOU! then you may need to get legal counseling.  I think your case will be easily won.

Good luck in your search for a fair employer.
Relax,

You'll live longer!
