Doc,

It sounds like a very kind and compassionate Chaplain......the ministry of your presence is very much acknowledged by your Dad reaching out and holding your hand. Whether he can put together coherent thoughts or not, that is proof that he knows who you are and that you are there for him.

I can only hope that I could be even a fraction as strong as you are being through all this. As I said earlier........YOU will be rewarded for your presence and compassion. I can only hope that I would be half the man that you have been through this. God Bless both YOU and YOUR Dad in this journey.

What if you woke up tomorrow, with only what you thanked God for today ???

Pop knows, Don... just hasn't much to say most times... always was a quiet man...good thing, too, cause Mom never let him get a word in edgewise!  :)

Got back from a few days up Central state (no deer harmed but some seen chasin to end a frustrating but cool season)... Dad was zonked Sunday afternoon...coudln't stay awake enough to swallow pills...couldn't speak to me... kinda spooky.

The weekend staff often just well...sucks... they checked BP, pulsox and sugar and all was within limits... he just couldn't wake up or do anything...I wanted to feed him and visit, but t hey said "no food" if he's not fully awake. I agreed.

Turned off TV, put head of bed back some, got him a softer pillow and told him to just rest and turned off the lights and let him rest.

He was better tonite...not great, but at least awake... times they are a changing me thinks.  :(

Thanks to everyone for yoru continued prayers for Dad and for me banging into walls trying to figure out the right path...  :)

bless you all...

Contine praying for you and Dad my Brother.

In HIS service
Brother Dave
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!
