Prayers please.

Folks,if you could please,I would really appreciate some prayers for my son. At the age of 31 he is still having a real hard time figuring out what life is all about.

  I know, lot's of us have been there,but this has been going on for quite a while now. I am not giving up hope but I am getting exhausted trying to help with the same situations over and over.
 
  I have made up my mind to back off and let him deal with some of these hardships himself as my help to date has really not helped him to much at all.  

 Prayers would really be great, my boy's name is Justin. Unemployed as of now,living with some friends,and going thru a rough relationship are just a "few" of the issues going on right now.

That is such a rough row to hoe.  Sometimes folks don't "get it" till they hit the bottom and realize the safety net has been cut away.

Tough thing for a loving parent to do, but if not now, when?  

I think key in what I read was "getting exhausted in trying to help with the same situations over and over."

When one repeats the same issues without learning there has to be a new set of lessons and criteria put in place.

Know that there will be many of us with you on this one and praying not only for you and Lori's strength, but for Justin to "get it" and launch successfully into the rest of his life.

Keep THE Son in your eyes and be strong with your son.

Craig, Sorry to hear about your son. I think you are smart to back off. I also realize none of us are happy unless our kids are happy. I promise to have you and Justin in my prayers. He has some monkeyball blood in him and he will figure it out... it is up to him and him alone.

I'm going to pray that he turns to the Lord and gives his heart to Jesus. His life might not get better because that is never promised by God but knowing that it is Gods plan will bring peace.

Praying for Justin. Sometimes someone else's bottom is much lower then your bottom. It is sad and painful to see things happen.

Two prayers; one for Justin that that he heads in the right direction according to God's will. Two for you to endure what God may have in mind. I pray for you to have the wisdom to know when to step in and when to let go.

Many times we do not understand what God's plans are but must bear with it.

Have 3 sons and Doc is right as long as we as dads keep hepling out (in  other words doing it for them) the only way to get change in the behavour is to not do the samething over again.

It will take all of your will not to step in and try to fix it. But the more we as dads do this we will be there to help put the pieces back together again.

Will be praying for not just Justin, but for God to give you the power to stand still..

Sorry to hear this is an ongoing issue. I know when we spoke you said there were some problems.  

It sounds to me you are doing the right thing and trying a new approach.  Sometimes when the safety net is taken away the desire to do better strengthens in fear of falling.

Sure one may fall in the process of learning, but that's how someone really finds out falling can hurt. Then not to do it again.  When we become an enabler we become part of the problem. I am happy you are able to recognize this.  You will be happy to recognize it in the long run.

I pray you, Lori and Justin the strength and Wisdom to get through this. In the process learn to get through it.
