My Dad, has been in the hospital for the past 6 weeks or so. He had a relapse of a MRSA infection from about 18 months ago. He's been on heavy duty anti-biotics trying to get it under control. Apparently, the infection migrated to his knee which had been replaced several years ago. It was decided the replacement had to come out and see what happened from there.
According to my brother, they thought they may have to amputate above the knee, the infection was that bad.
They have gotten the infection under control and actually were able to replace the replacement knee. The surgery was today and from all accounts that I received Dad is doing pretty well.
The past 18 months have been tough for Dad, the intial MRSA infection, lost his sight at the same time due to his diabetes, and then in June we lost Mom due to the dreaded Alzheimers.
I have re-examined my lot in life and priorities, and have applied for some jobs closer to home (Indiana), a real pain trying to get back from Alaska in a timely manner.
I have a job interview for a position in IL on Thursday.
First please pray for a speedy recovery for my Dad, who continues to amaze his doctors with his stubborn resilience, and get him home soon.
And a prayer the interview goes well so I can get closer to home to assist my siblings in taking care of him.
Any additional help talking to the Man upstairs would be appreciated.
