First of all I want to thank everyone again for all their prayers and thoughts and concerns. This is a journey I hope no one else has to take.
I had mentioned I had talked to the Dr. a week or so ago, and found out some things that I really did not want to hear, and some things that explained a lot.
Well for the last three weeks now, I have been in a state of total exhaustion. My legs have no feeling to me, as if they are not even there. My arms are aching and just tired all the time. The doctor said this was to be expected, up to a certain point. Ok....What point?
In the last 4 days, I have fallen three times out in the yard, just trying to get some exercise. I have noticed that my morning trip to get some coffee is getting a lot more visual in the wrong way. So I called the Dr. back and ask a few more questions.
The result is, this is what he wanted to hear. SAY WHAT??? Yes, you heard me. Now he is 100% positive that the operation was a complete success, and my body is learning all over. His comment was that just like in learning to walk for the first time as a baby, it did not happen on the first try, or for that fact, a lot of tries. That is what my body is going through. It will take time, A LOT OF TIME, for all of this to adjust.
I ask him about going in the woods, and he suggested that I give it some time, but to try it when my mind and body felt like it. He also informed me that anything that I try and do for the first time since the operation can be a struggle at the least, and not be able to do it until my mind and body adjust over time by seeing it multiple times to make it register. Well when I do something, and it makes me sick, I usually don't do it again,,but now I have to, or at least try.
Per the Dr. the second through the fourth month will be the worst, and will then start to show major improvement. Oh how nice. That is another reason he did not want to see me until November.
So not real sure what I can or can not do guys, and it looks like I have a huge battle with in myself to try things, but man it sure hurts when you fall down, and then have to stay in bed for two or three days. This morning, I could not walk to my truck with out my walking stick. That was a first in about 3 weeks.
Anyway, enough about all this. I hope you guys get to have a great hunting season. Take some pictures so us that can not get out can see what they look like at least. I am going to try, but have a feeling it will not be some of my best days.
