Don Rowan Memorial Kindness
« on: October 13, 2013, 05:34:00 PM »
Some time ago, Kimber posted up if anyone would be willing to remember Don on October 11th. I agreed.

Her request were simple. "Do a spontaneous "kindness" to someone on that Day in Don's Memory.

I had to wait for the weekend, but took my dear HS friend's widow out for breakfast on Saturday and spent today moving furniture for another person of need.

These old bones groaned, but didn't mind. I did it with Don in mind and knew he was indeed a cheerful giver to others.

Rest in Peace, Don!  We miss you as do all who knew and loved you!

No thanks, needed, Charlie.  Just thought if others had responded to Kimber's request, they might post up here.

The thanks go to Don for being who he was and leaving a heritage for us to follow!

He was a bear of a man with a heart just as big. The 11th was a very hard day for me, still hard to believe he has been gone a year. I was in the hospital the day before with chest pains, Dr.s are still not sure if I had a heart episode, stress test scheduled. I think he was telling me to change my eating habits and loose some weight, LOL.

Friend of mine passed way to early in an accident, and his minister, at his Celebration Service, commented, "Jim was a character of a man, and a man of Character!"

I don't think I could ever hope to have finer words said about me.  I didn't really know Don, but from some writings, I gathered he had a pretty good sense of humor.

Danny, indeed, time to mend some bad habits.  We all want to meet Jesus, just not tomorrow!

Memorials to Don don't need a specific date...just something Kimber posted up that caught my eye.  And even so, I had to wait a day to do what I wanted.

Each kindness shown another can be a symbol of his attitude toward others every day of the year!
