Surgery November 1st.
« on: October 17, 2013, 09:05:00 AM »
I know I have ask for a lot of prayers from everyone, but looks like I will need a few more.  I will be going in on November 1st to have rotator cuff surgery.  Hopefully this will get me back to being able to shoot my bow and arrows over time.

Through the last two years, it has been trying to say the least.  I just hope and pray that I am on the mend finally and can get back to some what of a normal lifestyle.

Thanks and God Bless
Charlie

Wishing you well as well as a speedy recovery Charlie!! I'm on the mend from surgery on a broken ankle that required 2 screws as well as 4 pins. So I can relate. I will keep you in my prayers.

Charlie,

Whatever you do, ASK and LEARN what you can and can NOT DO! As we age, it takes time to heal... and if you but do one stupid thing, you can UNDO all the doc did in surgery with rotator repair.

It'll make you sit up and take notice when the PT starts to move the bad boy after it's been immobilized, but Son, you've been thru worse! Then it starts getting easier.

I made sure my surgeon drew graphic lines about what was "pain" and what was injuring his work!

After that, I endured the pain, healed faster than most, but never crossed that line of "don't do this!"

Keep the Son in your eyes!

In prayer for you. Remember let it heal. Don't lift, catch, push, pull, fall, etc. Have patience and let it heal. Have a friend who has had 4 of these surgeries and has tried to use them to soon. In His hands
It's a DRY HEAT

Continued prayers sent from Ga.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

Thanks everyone.  I have just finished my second week of PT.  Per the Dr., he is not sure if I will get full use of the shoulder back because of the extensive damage in there that had to be repaired. Even the Dr. said it was really bad.  All I know right now it is extremely painful.  I can only hope and pray that I will be able to shoot my bows again.  Because of what and how he had to grind and even eliminate one muscle, we just will not know for some time.

Shoulder repair PT is the worst pain I've known...but it does subside if you do what YOU'RE to do and ONLY what you're to do!!

Been there, got the T-shirt!

Docs are docs, and only God knows the answer. Attitude is everything.  I had shredded tendons, impingement and torn rotator.

I did ONLY what was recommended, but I did it religiously, day in and day out and was back shooting huntin weight bow in 6 weeks.

of course, Charlie, I was a bit younger than now and so were you then...this is now, but the same goes.  Do ALL you are allowed...religiously.  Do ONLY what you're allowed...Faithfully!

Keep the Son in your eyes, ole hoss!

Good luck with your PT.  Stay the course and grind it out.  Best wishes for a full recovery.
