Prayers for my mobility situation...
« on: March 21, 2014, 10:04:00 PM »
I'm currently saving for a new wheelchair.  I have a perfectly serviceable wheelchair for indoor stuff, I'm working toward an outdoor chair, one that works much more like a bicycle for the arms than a chair.

 http://www.mountaintrike.com/

They aren't cheap, but they're the best manual chair I can find.  The Renegade is a little cheaper, but it doesn't have a suspension and I need it pretty badly for the bumps.  The real issue here is that I'm quickly losing what ability to walk I have.  The stroke that damaged my right leg did a number, and there's been next to no healing and now a slide into worse rather than better.  I don't mind the chair-I "ran" through Wal-Mart the other day and had the time of my life because I could feel wind on my face again.  I just want to be outside as much as possible, shooting, exploring and simply enjoying the sanctuary that the Lord built for us to worship in.

Should the backpay reach what it is predicted by my legal counsel to reach I would be able to buy it outright.  Wouldn't be any problem in the world, besides picking a color and waiting.  I'm just worried about getting the backpay in time before my legs collapse completely.  God has been good to me thus far, and He will take care of me, but all the same I want His provision for me to be able to be outside again.

God delivered me the victory in the case, and he even saw fit to let me be able to draw 55-60 pounds sitting down, now I pray he'll let me get out and use it.  It might seem paltry to you guys, but this wheelchair would give me back my freedom.

Prayers for God's perfect timing!

It doesn't seem paltry to me Edward. I can't imagine not being able to get outside. I have had a few times where back flareups left me down and out,no fun.

I am praying that God gets you where you need to be with that trike and that he lets them have one in a camo color when you go to buy!!!!!

                    Take care buddy,

Ed,

You've been a faithful trooper thru all this and kept a yeoman's attitude that must make the Lord smile!

Prayers for back pay or a Medicare approval to get the chair. VA got my Dad a swell chair due to his disability...

I just got confirmation today that what I will receive will cover my chair and much, much more.  My backpay will cover from August 15, 2010 to now, which means that my chair is a definite.  They even offered to disburse my down payment on Friday, once the computers are all updated, and did nearly 3K today.

God is certainly watching me.  I see no other explanation.  Thank you all for your prayers.  Now the ball's in my court, working on regaining accuracy and greater draw weight.  I can't wait.

Great News, Ed! To the faithful...He shall not fail!

Keep the spirit alive and continue to witness as you do.  Your faith humbles me.

Prayers continue for good things and best possible outcomes.
