I'm currently saving for a new wheelchair. I have a perfectly serviceable wheelchair for indoor stuff, I'm working toward an outdoor chair, one that works much more like a bicycle for the arms than a chair.
http://www.mountaintrike.com/ They aren't cheap, but they're the best manual chair I can find. The Renegade is a little cheaper, but it doesn't have a suspension and I need it pretty badly for the bumps. The real issue here is that I'm quickly losing what ability to walk I have. The stroke that damaged my right leg did a number, and there's been next to no healing and now a slide into worse rather than better. I don't mind the chair-I "ran" through Wal-Mart the other day and had the time of my life because I could feel wind on my face again. I just want to be outside as much as possible, shooting, exploring and simply enjoying the sanctuary that the Lord built for us to worship in.
Should the backpay reach what it is predicted by my legal counsel to reach I would be able to buy it outright. Wouldn't be any problem in the world, besides picking a color and waiting. I'm just worried about getting the backpay in time before my legs collapse completely. God has been good to me thus far, and He will take care of me, but all the same I want His provision for me to be able to be outside again.
God delivered me the victory in the case, and he even saw fit to let me be able to draw 55-60 pounds sitting down, now I pray he'll let me get out and use it. It might seem paltry to you guys, but this wheelchair would give me back my freedom.
