prayers please
« on: June 14, 2015, 10:05:00 AM »
While my needs are not as great as others on here, I feel I need some prayers. I am feeling very down and just do not have the drive to do much of anything. Not sick that I can tell, just a mind thing I think. I have worked so many years for my country both in the Navy and now as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and a lot has been on the mid shift. I am not getting the sleep I used to get, keep waking up, nap a couple of hours, wake up, nap a couple more and wake and so on. Not as young as I used to be so guess I need the Lord to lift me up and give me strength and let me rest before I break down.

Thank you

Brother, I will hold you up before Jesus. He is your strength and rest. He will guide you. I will tell you that when these times hit and they will. Go to Ephesians and read about God's armor . Pray each piece on. Stand with Christ by your side , and find comfort and peace in it. Proverbs speaks of finding rest if we trust in our God. Sweet rest. I know easier said than done, but do it He is there.

For the heart of my King,
Daniel

Indeed, Danny.

Sometimes our bodies tell us what we do not want to hear...

Prayers for your health, peace and rejuvenation to come to you.

Reading a book about Gracie on the Mountain...story of a nurse in AK who ran into the same thing, found a new home in the Mountains of NC and it rejuvenated her very soul, hiking those mountains.

May you, too, find a way to "wait on the Lord" and find peace to rebuild your strength and verve.

Thank you all, I know He is there always and the evil one will always try and put obstacles in our way. I just need to find the peace and listen. Time to spend some time in the jungle and just listen if I can find the time and energy.

Praise and rejoice in Him and His promises to spite the devil and the good feelings will come. Feelings are chemical reactions in our bodies that can be affected by the moon, what we eat, but all to often by stinkin thinkin.

Give yourself permission to go. Take your Bible and a journal. Read, Pray, Listen, and Write down what God says. That works for me. Even draw a picture. Now I caint dra but do my bes to.

Danny, in addition to tending to your spiritual condition, you may need to see a doctor. Many physical illnesses leave emotional scars as well. Check out tick borne maladies for example. Hope things improve soon.

Never have taken sleeping pills and never will. It is funny, cause when I am off, I sleep good on those two days, but the sleep times are different. My normal sleep time is from 0930 to around 1600. When I am off it is from 2200 to around 0600 and I sleep straight through but lately on work days it is 2 hours, wake up, 2 hours wake up , etc. Do not know why but it wears on ya especially at my age. It will get better cause HE is always there for me.

I've read that you should match your off days schedule to your on work rotating shift sleep schedule or your body's "interior clock" never resets itself...

I couldn't do it but when I was young so quit anything that had to do with rotating shift work.

Our bodies are designed to be healed and renewed with restful sleep...

Good luck.

David,

Thank you for your advise and insight. I do not rotate my shifts. I am on permanent Mid shift and work from 2300-0700. When I first entered on duty with CBP in 1999, we were on rotating shifts, 2 weeks on days, 2 weeks on eves and 1 month on mids and trust me that sucked, you could never get a sleep pattern, was so glad when they went to permanent shifts.

As for matching my off schedule with my work, kinda hard to do when you have a wife and family, as you do not want to be sleeping while they are awake and vice versa, does not make for a good relationship.

Peace will come as HE is watching over me and will not give me more than I can endure.
