How many arrows?

This maybe a stupid question, but how many arrows and broadheads do you guys take on safari?  I'm going on a 9 day South African safari for 5-7 animals.  I'm thinking of taking around 12-16 arrows.  Any suggestions?

I brought 18.  12 -18 should be lots.

A bit of advice:
Find out the size and shape of the blind shooting windows, and practice shooting through the same.Build a mock up if you have to.
20  yards seems like 40 when you look out from the darkness of a blind through a vertical slot in a concrete wall.
I had a hard time without having shot through from dark into light and through some 4  1/2" x 18" shooting windows.
Practice shooting through mesh also if you haven't already.
Quite a few of the blinds I was in had marks where broadheads hit on the sides/edges of the shooting windows, so I would assume others have had difficulty.

Next time I went with woodies again and wrecked about 4 of them - including practise AND hunting shots. Of course it will depend on situation and if you want to sit in a blind whole day or walk and stalk etc. But I think, take as much as will fit in your arrow tube or whatever you use and you'll have plenty. Have fun!

And you should take that hint from bucksaw seriously! I had not practised shooting through a three finger wide gap in some carpet, boards or concrete. And even if I had, it wouldn't have helped much. I just cant stand it!
Often one eye will be blocked by the sides of the blind. Might not be a problem for the sight shooting compounder, but it affects my vision badly and I am more or less unable to release an arrow with confidence.

Silent T, last summer on my trip i carried 36 arrows, 18 for each of my TD bows that i carried. i have a rolling duffle bag from cabelas that has a bottom sipper compartment that the aluminum bow case fits perfect in. then i used two of the heavy duty plastic arrow boxes (18 arrows in each). the arrow boxes fit on top of the aluminum box. there is actually a little extra room on one end for a small box that i used for extra strings, nocks, broadheads and assorted repair stuff. you won't need more than 2 sets of camo so you can use the extra room for your archery tackle.

I second Paleface.  Don't bring too many clothes, as most places do laundry daily.  Oh, and yes, PRACTICE  SHOOTING OUT OF A BLIND!  I did not, and I did not think it would make much difference, but I shot high, over the back of two animals, before I started to get used to it.  Even the animals I killed, I sill hit them a little higher than I wanted.  Everything looks farther away when you are looking through the window of a blind.  Especially if it is a sunken pit blind.

Follow bucksaw's advice, practice the shots. You should only need half dozen at most, but why not take 12-18 with 6-12 broadheads, they are light. Everyone packs to much clothing. The anticipation and preparing is ALMOST as much fun as being there.
