Piggy Fight
« on: March 31, 2011, 06:49:00 AM »
Well its been almost two years since I was last in Africa...  I am pining...  looking forward to the next time.. and whilst perusing my photos I found this little video I thought you all would like...

I was in my ghille suit doing a bit of sneak/stop/wait/scan with binos around a water hole...  I had been dropped off in the morning at a tower overlooking the water hole, but after a couple of hours sitting up there I decided to get down and do some walking...

I had with me my wheelie bow and my black widow..  I left the wheels at the base of the tower and left with my Black Widow psaII in my hands... easton fmj shafts tipped with silverflames and carefully stalked my way long the edge of some thorn trees overlooking the water...   I could see a muddy area on the other side and decided that if I could creep along the dam, and get into the trees there it would make a great ambush spot...  as I though that two really nice Impala came wandering along... my heart raced... I slowly went down on my knees and moved very slowly into heavier cover... if they kept coming then they would pass about 25 yards in front of me...  maybe closer if I was lucky...   they were at 60 yards and stopped...  5 yards more... stopped..   I reached down to set up the video recorder when WHACK!  something made the most amazing noise and the two impalas jumped about 12 feet straight up and then hightailed it out of there...  I could not believe my luck...  but then I saw the source of the noise..  two male warthogs going at it in the muddy spot I was originally planning on stalking my way into...  I managed to get a little of this on video as a "second prize"
Oh how I miss Africa...
Enjoy:  (about a 15 meg file)
