The PH will check the blinds out before you enter and in our case he would always assure my wife that there were not any elephants in there.

None of our party saw a snake when we were there.

Just go, you will never regret it.

Hello

I spent 24 years as a PH in Tanzania, CRA, and Mozambique .
The most dangerous snakes are the one That are so slow like the puff adder That they dont moove hearing you passing by.
So the risk to step on is more important . A faster snake like a cobra or mamba will warned you or will leave way before you will step on it .
During all this period and spending around 6 months per season in bush , we had only one accident , a tracker bitten by a black cobra to the leg and the guy survided . The Guy never saw the snake during à stalk , too focus on the buffalo .

While in Tanzania, we were driving down a dry river bed.  We went through about a 90 degree turn, and suddenly the PH, who was standing in front of me, at the rear of the cab, was pushing me toward the other side.  I was climbing over my two brothers.  I looked back and saw a mamba heading toward the river bank, Thank God.  It's head looked to be about 4-5 feet off the ground.  We must have surprised it because the hunting car made almost no noise on the sand.  Later, the PH agreed it must have been 9-10 feet long.  Now, I think there's just two kinds of snakes.  BIG ones and GREAT BIG ones.  This one definitely qualified as a GREAT BIG one.

Mamba's are aggressive if provoked, your PH will be well trained if you encounter one. Just relax and trust him. It's not so bad. they usually will let you retreat or retreat themselves.
