Schafer Silvertip T/D Longbows??
« on: December 27, 2007, 12:15:00 PM »
All this talk about Schafer Silvertip Recurves had me looking at the site and doing some research.Haven't really heard much about the longbows, but seriously considering having one made.

Anyone want to post their experience or pics of them here I would greatly appreciate any and all comments and/or pics...........

I have a few Longbows already(all 1 piece) and really prefer them to recurves, but want a t/d for travel,so would love to see some pics of the Silvertip t/d Longbows.

Please help a fellow archer get his fix!!  :D

Thank you very much!Great looking bows.

I think I like the looks of the 2 piece a little better, but from what I understand, the 3pc is now taking the place of the 2pc??Is this correct,or is there still a possibilty of having a 2pc made??

I'm planning on giving them a call tomorrow to ask some questions, but would like to have as much info as possible beforehand.

Thanks again for the pics, beautiful bows.....

I like the looks of his three piece. It looks exactly like mine except the throat is a little deeper. Same Limb profile. It should really shoot if he has carbon limbs. I really love the two piece , he should keep it.
God bless, Steve

Spoke with Dave this morning, very nice guy.

Have a t/d longbow on order,62" and #53 @ 28".The 2pc has been discontinued,so mine will be the 3pc,walnut diamondwood riser with clear glass over the actionwood limbs.

Now,I only have 10 months till I get it.......

I would love to come across a 2pc Schafer LB.I was hoping to be able to order a 2pc,but I'm pretty sure I'll be just as happy with the 3pc....................although I WILL be keeping my eye out just in case a 2pc turns up.

Like Alex, I love my two piece Schafer.  I don't know how many were made but Cookie Koch has the first, I have the second, and my brother has the third, two piece take down longbows that Dave made.  Don't think I am willing to part with it either.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.
